One Computer Can Change the World
Single Ethiopian mother receives recycled computer
Tehila Ohana, Armon Hanitziv Computer Center Director, recently received a heartwarming phone call from the mother of Esther B. "Esther participated in a website building course here at the center," Tehila says. "Tomer Feizinger, a Machshava Tova national service volunteer and I brought a recycled computer to her mother's house. It turns out that Esther's mother is a single mother. Throughout last year's course, Esther begged her mother to purchase a computer but the mother was unable to afford one. Now that we brought one to their house, Esther and her sisters are able to finish homework assignments, surf the Net and keep in touch with friends. The mother could not stop thanking us!"
Tehila remembers Esther's excitement upon receiving the computer. "It's extremely satisfying that we were able to help this family and hopefully, through our recycling program, help hundreds more."
