Yosi Balilti Wins Prestigious Award
Machshava Tova volunteer receives Jerusalem Mayor's Award for Volunteerism

ניוזלטר אוקטובר 2009 כתבה 2On October 18, Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat (presenting award at left) presented Yosi Balilti with the Mayor's award for Excellence in Volunteerism. Yosi, who is wheelchair bound and his son Shachar have been volunteering at the Pisgat Zev Computer Center. Below is a description of Yosi's work as described by the judging committee:

"Yosi began volunteering for Machshava Tova four years ago. Using his experience as a graphic artist he serves as an assistant teacher in a number of computer courses.

Though wheelchair bound, Yosi does not let his disability prevent him from volunteering and giving to others. His son Shachar shows the same passion for helping others that Yosi does. Yosi exhibits great patience and creativity while working with each individual student to help them advance.

For his efforts in education and reducing societal gaps and for serving as a personal example to others with disabilities, we award him the Mayor's Award for Excellence in Volunteerism."

Machshava Tova is honored to have Yosi as a staff member and we look forward to his continued involvement in teaching our participants. Congratulations!
