Mobile Computer Units (MCU) - Accessible Services to All Populations, Anytime, Anywhere
In 2007, Machshava Tova founded the first Mobile Computer Unit (MCU) in Israel. The vehicle holds 16 laptops, high speed Internet access (through mobile phones), and is equipped with a projector and a screen.
The MCU allows us to reach all populations across the country that are unable to physically attend our Computer Centers including kindergarten aged children, youth at risk, the ultra-Orthodox sector, abused women in shelters, people with disabilities residing in treatment centers, senior citizens in nursing homes, and more. All of these groups can benefit immensely from having computer skills and access; thus, the MCU provides them with training in a familiar, convenient, and safe environment.
In addition, the MCU operates workshops for children in hospitals; activities in the Southern region during emergencies; leisure activities in "white night" events to prevent youth from roaming the streets aimlessly; assistance in CV writing in Career Fairs, and more.
The MCU's flexibility allows us to offer our services nationwide and to promote technological accessibility among various populations of different age groups.
Currently, we operate 2 MCUs, which serve approximately 350 participants annually.
